Situated in the Charente region of the Gironde, Blaye is well protected by the citadel designed by Vauban. Its many valleys are in stark contrast to the marine-like landscape next to the estuary.
The red wines of the Premières Côtes de Blaye come solely from 4 grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec.
These red wines have a very pleasant bouquet, and they know how to blend power and fruitiness.
Located near the village of Saint-Androny, 4 km from Blaye, the vines of Le Ménaudat are planted in the clay-silt outcrops which stand tall above the right bank of the Gironde estuary, directly across the river from the Médoc.
